Waiting

But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

"Wait for it....."
Waiting is a verb.

If you wait in faith, then Lord will....
- Give you strength
- lift you up like and eagle and be able to see the big picture
- endurance to run and continue on
- stamina to walk and not faint.

Trust in the Lord today!

And DO Something! ---------- wait.

God Bless,
Pastor Jim

Give me Your Heart

For the last number of weeks....well, really, ever since the 2017 TLC Convention in May, God has been moving in my heart in a mighty way. And no, I am not one to "over-spiritualize", but there has been something different. When I sat back and allowed the Holy Spirit to actually move through me and in me, a change began to occur. No, not all at once, but subtle, 10-15 degree turns. With this, various themes have begun to emerge; ones that I have heard before, but never really understood. It is now that I am starting to gain a spiritual understanding, seeing things through the eyes of Christ.

Also in the last weeks, a couple of men from PC3 have been meeting Wednesday mornings at 5:30. These have been powerful and anointed times of crying out to God, sharing our hearts, interceding for our families and our church. It has become a time of refreshing for me, a midweek refueling, if you will. But, of all these, this last Wednesday was the most poignant. The following is what came out of that time with God.

You do not understand what "Give me your heart" truly means. As I was praying for my work situation and all it entails, God clearly posed the question "Are you having my heart"? My reply skirted the question, as I proceeded to list all the wrongs that had been done to me over the last weeks....about being undervalued, unsupported, stabbed in the back, lied about, etc. I said "God, I DON'T WANT YOUR HEART." He replied "My Son died on the cross for you and for these people, and as he hung there, Jesus STILL HAD MY HEART when he stated "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." How much more significant is this than your troubles at work?

Ouch.

The following scriptures were quickened to me.
1 Peter 5:7 - Cast your cares on him, for he cares for you.
Why am I trying to control the situation? You would think I have learned by now.....apparently not.
Romans 8:1 - There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ.
Why am I accepting the condemnation for these things?! Why am I buying into the attacks of the enemy? These things that are being thrown at me should not be sticking to me, but instead, I am letting them! These things were consuming me. These things were becoming my idols.

Ouch #2. (I told you, it was the most poignant prayer time yet. God was giving me yet another attitude adjustment.)

Idols. Idolatry. Defined by Google as "extreme admiration, love, or reverence for something or someone". A bit of a stretch? No, not in the least. My work problems had consumed me. I could not stop worrying or being angry about them. These areas of concern become idols when we fail to hand them over to God. We become so focused on them, they take all of our attention or admiration (or disdain). In this case, the situations I found myself in and the condemnation I received became the idols I was dealing with.

I am human. This will be a daily process of laying down my idols in order to truly have the heart of God. Lord, help me to desire your heart above all else. Help me to lay down my idols, and help me to cast my cares upon you.

"Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin....."                                  Zachariah 4:10

As a church family, we have come so far. From starting as a core group of 3 families, to now occupying a new building in the heart of our community, PC3 has grown. We believe that PC3 is making a difference in our lives, but also in the lives of those in our community. Our vision is to pursue Christ centered Christianity, a purpose that has countless outcomes. Most importantly, we want to show Jesus to the Pine City Community.

Part of our outreach and growth is to begin this blog. Here, we will post messages from our leadership team as well as any other words that we believe are important to the growth and outreach of our ministry. We look forward to sharing these thoughts with you! Most of the words will come from our Pastor, Jim Stearns and our Worship Director, Judah Baker.

Beginnings are important. Scripture tells us to not despise humble beginnings. We are to use them as a foundation, one that will be Christ centered and rock solid. We hope that this particular ministry will continue to be an outreach as you connect with the body of Christ.

Be blessed today.

Ryan
